Help: Films On Demand Video Collection - Getting Started
Abstract: Preview thousands of online educational videos and use them in courses or share with others. See also the Films On Demand Personal Login Features help topic.
Use the Films On Demand Video Collection to find thousands of streaming educational videos covering a wide range of subjects. You can watch any video you find in its entirety or view selected segments. Share video urls by e-mail or copy them to place in locations like Bb Vista courses. Off-campus access requires authentication with an NAU ID and password.Note to instructors who requested Films On Demand "playlist" URLs: Due to changes in the service, library-provided playlist URLs starting with http://www6.nau.edu/library/info/fmg/ondemand.cfm?playlist= no longer work.. If you plan to reuse these titles, you'll need to find new URLs following the instructions below, or contact the library's digital media team for assistance (see contact info below).
There are a number of ways to get started:

- 1. Search for keyword(s) in video titles or segments
- 2. Try the Advanced Search to limit by subject area, video producer, copyright date, and other criteria
- 3. Click on a broad subject to browse lists of titles in subcategories

- 4. Click on the video thumbnail image or title to view it
- 5. Videos are broken out into segments (like chapters on a DVD). You can watch the video in its entirety or watch selected segments.
If you find a title or titles you would like to share with others at NAU, there are a couple of options:
1. Click on the E-mail icon from your search results or a View Video screen to e-mail the title url to yourself and/or others.

2. Bring up the View Video screen for the title you want. Scroll down and copy the title url you see toward the bottom of the screen. You can paste this into your browser or place it in your Blackboard Vista course.

You cannot simply copy the url that appears in your browser's address bar to share the video with others -- it will not work for anyone else.

Playback computer technical requirements are available from the Films On Demand Web site (.pdf format- Adobe Reader required).
