- Biography/History
- L.C.B. "Mac" McCullough was born on January 23, 1910, and lived his early years in New Jersey. A 1931 Brown University graduate, apparently in engineering, McCullough worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps in Idaho and California. He was then employed as inspector for the Boulder (now Hoover) Dam and may have worked on the Alcan Highway in Alaska as well. During World War II he served in Hawaii. He lived in the San Francisco area for half a century, and worked as a civilian engineer at the Presidio. Throughout his life, Mac traveled extensively in the Four Corners region. He made numerous river trips with Georgie White Clark and jeep trips with Kent and Fern Frost. Mr. McCullough passed away on November 26, 1998.
