Biography/History
Grand Canyon River Guides, founded in 1988, unofficially began their oral history project in November 1990 at Georgie White Clark's 80th birthday party, Hatch River Expeditions warehouse, Marble Canyon, Arizona. The official start was with a grant from the Southwestern Foundation for Education and Historical Preservation. The project is ongoing. O'Connor Dale started river running in the late 1960s with Grand Canyon Expeditions, then Grand Canyon Dories.
